Fanshawe College
Known as Ontario Vocational College (OVC) initially, Fanshawe College is a public college that was established in London, Ontario in 1962. Classes were first held on 28th September 1964.
The name Fanshawe was given in 1967 by combining the words ‘fane’ meaning building or temple and ‘shaw’ or ‘shawe’ meaning woods. And, Fanshawe means ‘temple in the woods’. James A. Colvin was the first president of Fanshawe College.

Niagara College was founded in 1967 at Welland to provide more career-oriented courses to students. This was the very first college in Canada to teach brewery and winery.
